Following its impressive debut as the number one new Original drama series of last Spring*, Global’s The Guard makes its highly anticipated return to primetime with an all-new instalment of 15 episodes. Premiering October 29 - 10pm ET/PT, The Guard completes the network’s already robust Wednesday night line-up of fan favourites Bones (8pm) and NCIS (9pm).
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the growth and direction of the series – from the ramped up storylines to the dangerous and thrilling stunts, the sheer amount of action and drama alone is enough to keep our viewers engaged and at the edge of their seats,” said Christine Shipton, SVP, Drama and Factual Content. “We’re extremely excited that the universal appeal of our homegrown series has already garnered attention amongst the major markets, and we’re confident the interest will only continue to climb.”
Captain Miro Da Silva (Steve Bacic) along with Rescue Specialists Andrew Vanderlee (Jeremy Guilbaut), Carly Greig (Zoie Palmer) and First Mate Laura Nelson (Gemini nominee for Durham County, Sonya Salomaa) are back saving lives on the water while trying to keep the storms in their personal lives at bay. Turning up the action and turning out the star power, the new season of The Guard features Roger Cross (24) as Port Hallet’s new Officer in Charge, Jim McGregor with returning special guest David James Elliott (JAG) as David Renwald. Making waves in international waters, The Guard has successfully sold in over 30 territories including France, Poland, Hungary and the Middle East, with recent sales to A&E in Latin America, MNET in South Africa, YLE in Finland and RTBF in Belgium.
PREMIERE EPISODE SYNOPSIS“The Hold”: Miro breaks the rules when he takes the MLB on a chase of a battered trawler and ends up rescuing the victims of a human trafficking operation.
